PaintTopia
This Privacy Policy explains how PaintTopia collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the app.
1. Overview
PaintTopia is a pixel art conversion and guide tool for Android. Users can browse a pre-loaded gallery of pixel art examples, import their own photos to convert into pixel art using the Heartopia 125-color palette, generate step-by-step paint-by-numbers guides, export guide animations as animated GIF files, and use a floating overlay guide for tracing reference while drawing in other apps.
PaintTopia does not require user account registration to use its core features. Sign-in options shown in the app are placeholders for a future feature and are not currently functional.
PaintTopia is a guide and reference tool. It does not currently include drawing or pixel-editing tools within the app itself.
2. Information We Process
Images you import
When you import a photo from your gallery, the app processes that image entirely on your device to generate pixel-art previews, guide steps, saved guides, and GIF exports. Your images are never transmitted to any server operated by PaintTopia.
Pre-loaded gallery
The Explore tab displays a pre-loaded collection of pixel art examples. This content is bundled with the app and does not involve uploading or collecting images from users.
Locally saved guide data
PaintTopia stores generated guide data, preview images, source images, and guide metadata locally on your device so that you can reopen previous work. This data is only accessible within PaintTopia unless you manually share or export it.
Support emails
If you use the in-app report or contact feature, PaintTopia opens your email app with a prefilled template. The email you send is handled by your chosen email provider and is not processed by PaintTopia directly.
3. Information Collected by Third Parties
PaintTopia uses Google AdMob to display ads. As part of ad delivery, Google and its partners may collect or process device identifiers, advertising IDs, diagnostics, and app interaction data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

4. How We Use Information
- Convert imported photos into pixel-art previews at the chosen grid resolution.
- Generate step-by-step color guide sequences from pixel data.
- Save and restore local guide files and preview images.
- Export guide animations as GIF files for sharing or offline reference.
- Enable the floating overlay guide for tracing in other apps.
- Display in-app advertising through Google AdMob.
- Help users contact support through their mail app.
5. Permissions Used
Internet and network state
PaintTopia uses network-related permissions for ad delivery via AdMob and to check network connectivity.
Draw over other apps
PaintTopia includes an optional floating overlay guide. This feature requires the draw-over-apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) permission and is only active if the user explicitly enables and launches the overlay. The overlay displays a reference guide image over other apps; it does not capture or record the screen content of other apps.
Screen recording prevention
PaintTopia applies the FLAG_SECURE window flag to prevent screenshots and screen recordings of the app's own content. This is a security measure and does not affect other apps on your device.
No storage or camera permission
PaintTopia does not request READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, or camera permissions. Images are accessed through the system file picker, which does not require broad storage access. GIF exports are written to the app's private storage directory.
6. Data Storage
All user-generated guide files, pixel-art previews, source images used for conversion, and exported GIFs are stored locally on the device in the app's private data directory. This data is not accessible to other apps without the user manually sharing it.
PaintTopia does not operate a cloud account system. There is no network sync or remote backup of guide data.
7. Data Sharing
PaintTopia does not sell your personal images, guide files, or any user-generated content. The only third party that may receive data related to your device is Google AdMob, which handles ad delivery according to its own terms and privacy policies.
8. Children's Privacy
PaintTopia is not designed specifically for children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information through the app in a way that concerns you, please contact us at the address below.
9. Your Choices
- You can uninstall the app at any time to remove all app data from your device.
- You can clear app storage in Android Settings to remove locally saved guides and data.
- You can choose whether to grant draw-over-apps permission for the overlay guide feature.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising through your device's Google Ads settings.
- You can choose whether to use the in-app support email flow.
10. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when new features are added to PaintTopia. Any material changes will be reflected in an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
